Penishe - Sines

Penishe -Sines 110 Nm / 34 h

Early morning start from Penishé with breakfast at sea 9.00. The harbor was quite calm not big swell as predicted.
Yesterdays memories of the beautiful island Berlenga were great. Only the harbor was too small for us for anchoring.
The sea was calm today but unfortunately we had to tack against the wind. We decided to have a long boogie straight to the Atlantic. We made some nice long tacks. When the night fell we were around Sesimbra, the boat howewer sailed beutiful so we decided to tack again towards the sea and continued sailing down the Portugese coast line. The night was cold and we had to put on the harness.

The morgning came wit the beautiful sunshine. The warmth filled our souls. Morning coffee with bread wakes you up. The fisherman trough out the bates. This time again with a weight on the line.
The first fish of the whole journey came with a big smile of the fisherman, 1.5 kg Makrell.
We arrived to Sines just after the night fall. The harbor was hidden behind the inner breakwater. The swell was big and the boat needed several moorings, spring lines and all the fenders we had.

Some corrections concerning the species, the fish we caught was a Bonito, baby Tuna not a Makrell. This we found out in Lagos in one shop that sells gear for blue water fishing.
